What is the Support at Home Programme?

The Support at Home Program is a government initiative that helps older Australians live independently by providing access to personalised home care services.

Government subsidies help cover the cost, with fees based on the services you choose and, in some cases, your financial situation.

5 Easy Steps to Access Government-Funded Home Care:

Getting started with Home Care doesn’t need to be complicated. Follow these simple steps:

Call Us

Phone 13 18 19 and we’ll take the time to understand what’s important to you, explain your options, and help you get started.

Apply with My Aged Care

Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to complete a simple 15-minute application.

Book Your Assessment

An assessor will contact you within 2 weeks to schedule an in-person or phone assessment.

Receive Your Support Plan

If eligible, you’ll receive a personalised support plan and a referral code to choose your preferred Home Care provider.

Choose CatholicCare Sydney

Call 13 18 19 with your referral code and support plan — we’ll help you get your services started.

Types of care subsidised by the government

While Government subsidies help cover the cost of care, you may be asked to contribute to some services depending on your circumstances.

  • Clinical care (like nursing) is fully funded by the government
  • Other services (like personal care, cleaning, and transport) may require a small client contribution based on your financial circumstances and service type.
