CatholicCare's GambleAware program provides free and confidential counselling and support for those engaged in gambling and their families who are experiencing social, emotional and financial difficulties. 

This service is available face-to-face, online and via phone in three regions:


We aim to provide positive lifestyle choices for people who are experiencing the effects of gambling harm. Individual appointments are available as well as support groups, family workshops, outreach groups and community engagement.

Our service is accessible to people who are from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), homeless, disadvantaged and deaf communities, and we can arrange interpreter services as required.

Counselling For People Experiencing Gambling Harm

Our GambleAware service provides free counselling and treatment programs for people experiencing gambling harm as well as experiencing social, financial and emotional difficulties stemming from harmful gambling activities. We support people who are experiencing the effects of gambling harm to make positive lifestyle choices. We ensure that people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), Homeless, Disadvantaged and Deaf communities are welcomed and have access to our service. We can also provide referrals for support services including mental health, legal, housing, and employment and training services as required.

Counselling For Family And Friends

Our team works with the family and friends of people experiencing gambling harm. We support them by providing information and understanding as to how they can support their loved one, we also share effective strategies for their own self-care.

Financial Counselling

Our GambleAware service provides free, confidential financial counselling for people experiencing financial problems due to their gambling, or someone else’s gambling. This includes managing their financial stress, assistance to create manageable budgets and support to move towards financial stability.

Referrals

We can provide referrals for financial counselling services, legal matters, housing assistance, employment and training and mental health services.
