Child & Adolescent Sexual Assault Service

It is a free service providing counselling and support for children and young people who are presenting with harmful sexual behaviours or who have experienced sexual assault.

What the service provides?

  • Support and counselling for non-offending family members
  • Court preparation and support
  • Information and consultation to community organisations
  • Group programs
  • Advocacy and intervention for children under ten years of age with sexualised behaviours

The service is available to the Burwood, Canterbury Bankstown, Inner West, Strathfield and Sydney Local Government Areas (LGAs).

How to make a referral?

Referrals can be accepted after a report has been made to the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Helpline on 132 111.

To make a referral or enquiry please call 13 18 19 and ask to speak to a sexual assault counsellor.

Parental permission is required for young people under the age of 16.

Referrals can be made by service providers if client consent has been obtained.

CatholicCare Sydney’s Child and Adolescent Sexual Assault Service is funded by the Department of Communities and Justice and is a member of CASAC Inc. A New South Wales peak body for community-based services providing child and adolescent sexual assault counselling.
