Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program

What is The Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program?

The Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program provides individualised one-on-one support to young women aged 16-25  who are pregnant or have a child under the age of two. Women must have complex needs such as poverty, homelessness, mental health, history of abuse or trauma, OOHC history, etc. 

Each young woman and her child(ren) are supported through both case management and specialised education and support in the home and community. This may include assistance with areas such as accessing antenatal services; health information during pregnancy; information about child development; support with parenting issues; support to access other community and health services; assistance with housing and living skills; support to engage in work or study; assistance to access services for bub; etc. 

CatholicCare’s Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program team work from a person-centred perspective and will work with each young mother and her child/ren to develop and put in place the supports that meet their needs.
