Early Childhood Intervention

The Early Childhood Intervention Program is a family-centred education and therapy program that offers regular and ongoing home and centre-based intervention for children from birth to school age with a mild, moderate and or severe disability or developmental delay in two or more developmental areas.

The programs we offer are:

  • Home-based program for children 0 - 3.5 years.
  • Early Intervention Groups for children 3.5 years - 6 years.  (Term time only).
  • Consult for children 3.5 years - 6yrs
  • Wattle Playgroup for children 0 - 6 years.  Mondays 10am - 12pm term time at Padstow.

The early intervention program is here to assist children to reach their potential and to help families help their children.

OUR PROGRAM IS

  • Family Focused: we work with families to set and achieve goals.
  • Play-Based: we work through play to provide assessment and intervention.  
  • Transdisciplinary: each child has a primary worker who incorporates recommendations from all team members.

OUR TEAM IS

  • Physiotherapist: focuses on the child’s gross motor development and control of movement ie. balance, co-ordination and mobility.
  • Speech Pathologist: focuses on speech,   language and communication development and feeding skills.
  • Occupational Therapist: focuses on the child’s self-help skills, social development and the ability to use his/ her hands.
  • Special Educator: focuses on cognition and play skills, pre-academic skills and behaviour difficulties.  Educators also facilitate and support the transition to other early childhood services and school.

In the west and southwest of Sydney.  We service clients in particular areas of the following LGA’s:

  • Auburn
  • Bankstown
  • Fairfield
  • Holroyd
  • Liverpool
  • Parramatta
