Counselling
Counselling is a process where a qualified person assists people to address difficulties in their relationships or their lives. Talking with a counsellor can provide a safe and supportive environment in which to explore issues. Through this exploration a person may be assisted to generate new options or to develop new ways of viewing a situation. A counsellor does not judge a person or tell them what to do.
Information discussed in a counselling session is strictly confidential. Exceptions to confidentiality may apply where a counsellor identifies concerns about someone’s safety and/or criminal behaviour.
Counselling sessions run for 50-60 minutes. A counselling appointment is required and can be made by phoning CatholicCare during office hours.
